Meet Jon Altschuler

Jon Altschuler, a proud Texan, SMU graduate, and long-time Park Cities resident, has been actively involved in championing education and community initiatives for many years, demonstrating a deep commitment to the success of Highland Park ISD and its students. As a devoted father of four, all of whom have attended or currently attend HPISD schools, Jon's commitment to education is personal and unwavering.

He has served on the Advisory Board of the Highland Park Education Foundation for nine years, which plays a crucial role in raising funds and enhancing educational opportunities for students and teachers. His dedication extends to philanthropy, as he and his wife, Lori, are donors to the Foundation’s Mad for Plaid campaign.

Jon's dedication goes beyond fundraising. In 2015, he authored a visionary article proposing an alternative plan for HPISD’s bond proposal, demonstrating his proactive approach to critical discussions about the district’s long-term success and fiscal responsibility.  His leadership is further exemplified by his tenure as President of the Bradfield Dads Club (2014-2015), where he fostered greater parent involvement in school activities. Jon is also passionate about mentoring Highland Park graduates, guiding them as they transition into their next chapter.

Beyond HPISD, Jon is involved in other organizations that benefit education. Jon is the chair of the SMU Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences Executive Board and serves on the SMU Mustang Club Board of Directors, which promotes SMU student athletics. Jon also serves on the Board of the Fort Worth Education Partnership, which supports Fort Worth public schools with special focus on students from under resourced communities.

In the business world, Jon is a dynamic and successful leader. As the founder and General Partner of Altschuler and Company, he collaborates with entrepreneurs, corporations, and institutions on high-stakes commercial real estate transactions. His company employs many talented individuals, including fellow Park Cities residents, contributing to the local economy and community.

Jon has consistently dedicated his time and resources to supporting HPISD and the Park Cities community. His extensive experience and success in education advocacy, business, philanthropy, and mentorship reflects his commitment to ensuring the district continues to be the best district in Texas—if not the United States—and makes him the right choice for School Board Trustee, Place 4.
